In response to the large sums of money bid at the IPL auction table, former South African captain AB de Villiers claimed that England all-rounder Sam Curran has been overpriced for a number of years.
AB De Villiers continued by saying that Curran has received more than his recent performance has warranted. Curran’s considerable skill was acknowledged, but De Villiers also brought up the fact that his recent performances in the IPL and in international cricket had not lived up to expectations.
Punjab Kings (PBKS) paid an incredible ₹18.50 crore to get Curran during the IPL 2023 auction. He appeared in 14 games last season, collecting 276 runs and claiming 10 wickets, but his performance was not very outstanding. Nevertheless, PBKS has decided to keep him for the forthcoming season.

Pacer Harshal, who took the most wickets in the 2021 IPL season, had three bittersweet seasons with the Bangalore-based team. With 14 wickets at the end of the season, the Indian pacer and lower-order batsman had a dismal 2023 campaign. During IPL 2023, the pacer’s economy of 9.66 for RCB was dubious.
