Hardik Pandya was chosen the new captain of the Mumbai Indians, taking over for Rohit Sharma, and there have been ongoing rumors and speculations of tension within the team.
A day before the auction, speculation circulated on social media that senior players Suryakumar Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah had informed the MI management and owners via letters and emails that they did not want to play under Hardik Pandya’s captaincy, in response to the MI and Rohit Sharma’s supporters’ outrage on the platform.
Twenty days following his return to the Mumbai Indians, Hardik Pandya was declared the team’s new captain, replacing 36-year-old Rohit, who guided MI to five IPL titles but was unable to guide them.
Bumrah and SKY write emails and letters to MI administration regarding to the Hardik Pandya captaincy. According to sources, of thecricketlounge Suryakumar Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah still don’t like that Pandya was chosen as the captain and have told the owners and the management of their displeasure a day before the IPL 2024 auction.
