BCCI Announced Team India squad for Afghanistan T20Is series

Following India’s victorious tour of South Africa, all eyes are focused on the upcoming Twenty20 International series against Afghanistan, with supporters looking forward to seeing the India team announced. According to reports, the BCCI selection committee will convene in Mumbai today to determine the India team for the first two Test matches against England and the Afghanistan T20I series. The selection committee, headed by Ajit Agarkar, is in the news again after delaying the announcement of the India team and creating a conundrum for themselves by choosing to play seasoned batsmen Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

The Indian Express report went on to say that Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah, who each took six wickets in either inning of India’s victory in Cape Town, will probably be rested for the Twenty20 Internationals against Afghanistan because the selectors want them to be ready for the lengthy series against England that begins later this month.

The secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Jay Shah, may be crucial in making the “big call” regarding the selection of Kohli and Sharma, according to a recent report from the news agency PTI. Supporters are curious to watch how the selectors handle the difficult task of striking a balance between experience and up-and-coming talent because of the uncertainty surrounding the team announcement delay. The 19-man Afghanistan squad, led by Ibrahim Zadran, has already been revealed for the forthcoming series; the India team is yet unknown.

Afghanistan’s star player, Rashid Khan, may miss the series as he continues to heal from back surgery. On the other hand, the visiting team features players like Naveen-ul-Haq, Mohammad Nabi, and Mujeeb Ur Rahman.
