Finn Allen Century Powers KKR to Dominant Win Over Delhi Capitals

Kolkata Knight Riders produced another strong all-round display in IPL 2026 as they defeated Delhi Capitals by eight wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Thursday. After restricting DC to a below-par total of 142/8, KKR chased down the target comfortably in just 14.2 overs, thanks to a sensational unbeaten century from Finn Allen.

The victory marked KKR’s fourth consecutive win of the season and significantly boosted their playoff hopes.

Delhi Capitals Struggle Against KKR Spin Attack

After being asked to bat first, Delhi Capitals found it difficult to build momentum on a slow surface that offered assistance to the spinners. Pathum Nissanka played the standout knock for the hosts, scoring a well-made 50 while trying to keep the innings together.

However, KKR’s spin department controlled the middle overs brilliantly. Anukul Roy delivered an impressive spell, removing key batters at crucial stages, while Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy kept the scoring rate under pressure throughout the innings.

DC lost wickets regularly and struggled to find boundaries during the middle phase. Ashutosh Sharma provided some late resistance with a useful cameo, helping Delhi reach 142/8 in their 20 overs.

The chase belonged entirely to Finn Allen. The aggressive opener delivered one of the finest knocks of IPL 2026, remaining unbeaten on 100 while dominating the Delhi bowlers from start to finish.

Allen started cautiously before shifting gears in spectacular fashion. He attacked both pace and spin with confidence and cleared the boundary regularly during the middle overs. His clean hitting completely took the game away from Delhi Capitals.

Despite losing Ajinkya Rahane early due to a run-out, KKR never looked under pressure. Allen continued his aggressive approach and brought up his maiden IPL century in style with a six to finish the match.

Delhi’s bowlers struggled to contain him, with their spinners conceding heavily on a pitch that had earlier supported KKR’s slow bowlers.
