There is a big news coming from West Indies cricket. At the age of just 29, star batsman Nicholas Pooran, known for his stormy batting, has bid farewell to international cricket. He was once the captain of the West Indies ODI and T20 team.

He shocked his fans by deciding to retire at such a young age. In his career, Nicholas Pooran scored 1983 runs in 61 ODIs and 2275 runs in 106 T20 matches. He recently played against England.

But his decision was surprising because in November 2024, when he played his 100th T20 International match, he said he could play another 100 T20 International matches.

Wearing the maroon jersey, standing for the national anthem and having everyone cheering you on every time you step onto the field... these moments are hard to describe in words. It was an honor to be the captain of the team, and I will always remember that.

Nicholas Pooran further wrote- My heartfelt thanks to the fans for your unconditional love. You supported me in difficult times and celebrated with full enthusiasm in good moments. Family, friends and colleagues

Nicholas Pooran made his debut for the West Indies in a match against Pakistan in the UAE in 2016. Three years later, he played his first ODI against England. In 2022, he will be called up to the West Indies ODI and T20 teams.
