India Eye Series Win Against New Zealand in 3rd T20I: Probable XI and Team News

India will look to seal the five-match T20I series when they face New Zealand in the third match at Hnry Stadium, Wellington, on Tuesday, October 27, 2026. The visitors lead 2–0 after winning both opening matches in Christchurch, leaving the hosts under pressure to respond.

The match is scheduled to begin at 12:30 PM IST, with the toss expected 30 minutes earlier.

India Look to Continue Winning Momentum

India have found different match-winners in their opening two victories. Sanju Samson played a major role in the first match, while Tilak Varma and Nitish Kumar Reddy guided the team to a four-wicket win in the second T20I.

Tilak’s unbeaten 51 off 26 balls demonstrated India’s batting depth under pressure. The visitors will want their top order to provide a stronger platform, particularly after New Zealand’s bowlers created opportunities in the previous game.

Ishan Kishan remains unavailable following a low-grade right adductor strain. India must decide whether to retain Vaibhav Sooryavanshi at No. 3 or adjust the batting order. Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s experience with the new ball will also be important as India aim to complete the series victory.

New Zealand Make Bowling Changes

New Zealand have confirmed several squad movements ahead of the third T20I as they manage fast-bowling workloads. Lockie Ferguson will miss the Wellington match, while Matt Henry has been ruled out of the remaining T20Is. Matt Fisher has travelled as cover for this match, and Kyle Jamieson is available.

Captain Mitchell Santner remains central to New Zealand’s plans after taking four wickets in the second T20I. Glenn Phillips and Bevon Jacobs have provided valuable runs, but the hosts need their bowlers to finish stronger after twice allowing India to win close contests.

Playing at a new venue gives New Zealand an opportunity to adjust their strategy and put greater pressure on India’s top order.

Probable Playing XIs

New Zealand: Finn Allen, Tim Seifert, Glenn Phillips, Daryl Mitchell, Bevon Jacobs, Michael Bracewell, Mitchell Santner (c), Kyle Jamieson, Jacob Duffy, Nathan Smith, Blair Tickner.

India: Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson (wk), Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Shreyas Iyer (c), Tilak Varma, Naman Dhir, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Axar Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Arshdeep Singh, Prince Yadav.

These are probable XIs, not confirmed teams. Final selections will be known at the toss.

Match Outlook

New Zealand have shown they can challenge India, but their inability to close out the first two matches has proved costly. India enter the third T20I with confidence and a chance to secure the series early. The hosts must deliver a more disciplined bowling performance to keep the contest alive.
