The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed that medical examinations revealed a finger fracture, ruling Masood out of the second Test. He will remain under the supervision of the team's medical staff as he begins his recovery.

Masood's fitness will now be closely monitored ahead of Pakistan's three-Test tour of England. The opening Test of that series is scheduled to begin on August 19 in Leeds, and his availability will depend on the progress of his rehabilitation.
