Trent Boult Returns to Big Bash League with Sydney Thunder for BBL|16

New Zealand fast bowler Trent Boult is returning to the Big Bash League after signing with Sydney Thunder for the upcoming BBL|16 season.

The 37-year-old left-arm pacer has signed a one-year deal and will be available for the entire tournament, including the fi9nals. He will join fellow New Zealand fast bowler Lockie Ferguson as Sydney Thunder strengthen their pace attack ahead of the Australian summer.

Boult previously played for Melbourne Stars during BBL|12. He brings extensive experience from international cricket and major T20 leagues around the world.

Sydney Thunder head coach Andrew Flintoff welcomed the signing, highlighting Boult’s reputation as a world-class performer and his ability to take wickets with the new ball.

Boult said he was excited to return to the Big Bash and join Thunder. He hopes to make an impact during the powerplay while contributing to the team’s performances throughout the season.

His arrival gives Sydney Thunder another experienced international option as they prepare for BBL|16. The combination of Boult’s left-arm pace and Ferguson’s right-arm bowling could provide the team with a balanced new-ball attack.

Boult has taken hundreds of wickets across international and franchise T20 cricket and has won titles in several major competitions. His experience could prove valuable as Thunder look to improve their results in the upcoming Big Bash season.
