India vs West Indies T20I Series Ends 2-2 After Rain

India and the West Indies finished their five-match T20I series level at 2-2 after rain forced the abandonment of the fifth match at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on October 17.

The series decider was disrupted by persistent showers, delaying the toss and reducing the available playing time. Although conditions eventually allowed a shortened contest to begin, further rain prevented the West Indies from starting their run chase.

India had the opportunity to secure the series with a victory, while the West Indies were aiming to finish the tour with a series win. The weather ultimately denied both sides a chance to settle the contest in the final match.

India Post 118 in a Rain-Reduced Innings

After the match was reduced to nine overs per side, India made an aggressive start and reached 118 for five in 7.4 overs before rain interrupted play again.

Ishan Kishan scored 30 off 10 balls, providing early momentum, while Naman Dhir struck 24 from just six deliveries. Shreyas Iyer also contributed with a quick 22.

For the West Indies, Keemo Paul took two wickets for 34 runs, while Shamar Springer claimed two for 17. However, the visitors did not get the opportunity to begin their chase as the weather continued to affect the match.

Series Finishes Level at 2-2

The abandoned fifth T20I meant the series ended without an outright winner. India claimed victories in the first and third matches, while the West Indies responded by winning the second and fourth games to level the series before the decider.

Both teams had entered the final fixture with a chance to claim the series, but the weather proved decisive.

Rain Denies Bengaluru a Series Finale

The result was disappointing for fans who had gathered at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium hoping to witness a decisive finish. Despite a brief period of action, persistent rain prevented the match from reaching its conclusion.

India and the West Indies therefore share the honours in the five-match T20I series, with the scoreline finishing 2-2 after a weather-affected final encounter.
