Punjab Kings eventually finished with 15 points, but Rajasthan Royals secured the final playoff position with 16 points after defeating Mumbai Indians.
One of the major concerns for Punjab throughout the season was fielding. The team dropped several important catches during key moments, allowing opposition batters extra opportunities. Those mistakes often proved costly in closely contested matches and affected the overall confidence of the side.
The bowling department also faced challenges. While the batting lineup regularly posted strong totals, the bowlers struggled to defend scores consistently. Punjab crossed the 200-run mark multiple times this season, but even large totals were not always enough to secure victories.
The pace attack showed flashes of quality but lacked consistency in pressure situations. The spin department also failed to make a significant impact during the tournament. As a result, Punjab often found it difficult to control matches during the middle overs and at the death.
