DC vs KKR Match Report: Delhi Capitals Beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 40 Runs

Delhi Capitals ended their IPL 2026 campaign with an impressive 40-run victory over Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens. Although both teams were already out of the playoff race after Rajasthan Royals defeated Mumbai Indians earlier in the day, Delhi delivered a complete performance with both bat and ball.

Batting first, Delhi Capitals posted a competitive total of 203 for 5 in 20 overs. KL Rahul played the leading role with a fluent 60 runs from just 30 deliveries. He attacked the KKR bowlers confidently and scored freely against spin during the middle overs.

Abishek Porel and Sahil Parakh provided a steady start before Rahul accelerated the innings with aggressive strokeplay. Axar Patel later added valuable momentum with a quick 39 from 25 balls, while David Miller finished strongly in the final overs with important boundaries.

Rahul Leads Delhi’s Batting Effort

KL Rahul looked in complete control throughout his innings. He used his footwork effectively against Sunil Narine and found boundaries consistently during the middle overs. His attacking approach helped Delhi maintain a healthy run rate after the powerplay.

Axar Patel and David Miller continued the momentum in the death overs and pushed Delhi beyond the 200-run mark with smart finishing.

Kuldeep and Ngidi Seal Comfortable Win

Kolkata Knight Riders began their chase positively through Finn Allen and Ajinkya Rahane. Rahane played a fighting knock of 63 runs and tried to keep KKR in the contest despite regular wickets at the other end.

The turning point came when Kuldeep Yadav dismissed Rahane and Rinku Singh in consecutive deliveries during the middle overs. His spell completely shifted momentum back towards Delhi Capitals.

Lungi Ngidi also bowled with discipline and picked up three important wickets. KKR eventually collapsed for 163 in 18.4 overs, losing their final seven wickets quickly as Delhi secured a comfortable victory to close their season on a positive note.
