England Announce ODI and T20I Squads for Australia Tour 2026: Full Details

England have announced separate 16-player squads for the ODI and IT20 series against Australia, scheduled to take place in November 2026. Harry Brook will captain both sides as England continue their preparations for the 2027 ICC Men's Cricket World Cup.

Jacob Bethell returns to the white-ball setup after recovering from a knee injury sustained during England's ODI series against India in July. Fast bowler Jofra Archer has also been recalled for the ODI leg after being rested for the ongoing tri-series in Pakistan.

Thomas Rew and Eddie Jack Earn Maiden Call-Ups

The IT20 squad features fresh faces, with wicketkeeper-batter Thomas Rew and fast bowler Eddie Jack receiving their first England men's call-ups. Rew, aged 18, is the youngest member of the squad and previously captained England's Young Lions to the Under-19 World Cup final in February.

Phil Salt also returns after recovering from the quad injury that ruled him out of England's recent IT20 series against Sri Lanka. Aneurin Donald retains his place, while Luke Wood has been recalled to the squad.

Jos Buttler and Saqib Mahmood Miss Out

Jos Buttler remains unavailable as he begins rehabilitation following hamstring surgery. Fast bowler Saqib Mahmood has also been ruled out of selection because of a knee injury.

England will manage the workloads of their fast bowlers during the tour. Archer, Gus Atkinson, Sonny Baker and Josh Tongue are scheduled to leave after the three-match ODI series ahead of the Test tour of South Africa.

Australia Tour Part of World Cup Preparations

England's tour will provide an important opportunity to test their white-ball combinations in Australian conditions ahead of next year's ODI World Cup, which will be hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.

The ODI series begins on November 13, followed by the five-match IT20 series starting on November 21. With returning players, emerging talent and experienced campaigners in the squads, England will look to build momentum against a strong Australian side.
