Sri Lanka Test Squad for Pakistan Series: Kusal Mendis to Lead

Sri Lanka have named a 15-member squad for their upcoming two-Test series against Pakistan, with Kusal Mendis appointed captain for the tour scheduled from November 9 to 21, 2026, according to the squad announcement shown in the supplied graphic.

The series will provide Sri Lanka with a significant challenge against Pakistan in home conditions, with matches scheduled in Rawalpindi and Lahore. The contest is expected to test Sri Lanka’s batting depth and bowling resources against a Pakistan side familiar with its own pitches.

Pathum Nissanka, Pasindu Sooriyabandara, Dinesh Chandimal and Kamindu Mendis are among the batters named in the squad. Dhananjaya de Silva adds experience and all-round options, while Kusal Mendis will carry the responsibility of leading the side.

Sri Lanka have also included several pace options, with Lahiru Kumara, Asitha Fernando, Milan Rathnayake, Dilshan Madushanka and Eshan Malinga named alongside left-arm spinner Prabath Jayasuriya and Keshara Nuwantha. Anjala Bandara and Sonal Dinusha complete the listed group.

The two-Test series will offer Sri Lanka an opportunity to assess their squad against a challenging opposition away from home. Pakistan’s familiarity with the conditions could prove important, making Sri Lanka’s adaptability and consistency key factors across the series.

However, the squad details and schedule should be confirmed through an official Sri Lanka Cricket announcement before publication.
