How the Ranji Trophy Points System Works

  • Outright win: 6 points, plus 1 bonus point if the victory is achieved by an innings or 10 wickets.

  • First-innings lead in a drawn match: 3 points.

  • First-innings deficit in a drawn match: 1 point.

  • Tie: 3 points to each team.

  • Loss: No match points.

What to Watch Next

With only one match recorded for each team in the standings shown, the table remains at an early stage. Hyderabad, Gujarat, Mumbai, Uttar Pradesh and Baroda have made strong starts, while Andhra will look to build on their opening-round points.

The next round of fixtures will begin to shape the group standings, particularly for teams aiming to secure places in the knockout stage.
