Ayush Badoni Smashes 217 as Delhi Post Mammoth Total Against Gujarat

Delhi captain Ayush Badoni produced a commanding double-century against Gujarat in the Ranji Trophy 2026–27, scoring 217 to help his side post a massive first-innings total of 648/6 declared at Palam B Stadium.

Badoni faced 246 deliveries and struck 22 fours and two sixes, anchoring Delhi’s batting effort with an innings built on patience and controlled aggression. His contribution came after Delhi had lost three wickets for 142, with the captain taking charge and guiding the innings towards a dominant position.

Opening batter Priyansh Arya provided the other major contribution, narrowly missing a double-century with an impressive 199 off 220 balls, including 24 fours and six sixes. Badoni and Arya helped Delhi establish a strong platform before further contributions from the middle order.

Sumit Mathur added 92 off 184 deliveries, while wicketkeeper Anuj Rawat remained unbeaten on 61 from 61 balls. Delhi eventually declared at 648/6 after 136.4 overs.

Gujarat responded with 479 in their first innings. Manan Hingrajia led the resistance with 123 from 303 balls, while Chintan Gaja contributed 82. Jaymeet Patel also scored 72 as Gujarat attempted to close the gap.

Delhi spinner Hrithik Shokeen was among the leading performers with the ball, claiming five wickets for 143 runs. His spell helped Delhi secure a substantial first-innings advantage.

Gujarat were asked to follow on but reached 15/1 in eight overs in their second innings before the match ended in a draw. Delhi collected three points after securing the first-innings lead, while Gujarat earned one point.

Badoni’s 217 was one of the standout batting performances of the round and strengthened his start to the 2026–27 domestic season.
