GT vs RR Qualifier 2: Shubman Gill Century Sends Gujarat Titans Into IPL 2026 Final

Gujarat Titans booked their place in the IPL 2026 final with a commanding seven-wicket victory over Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier 2 at New Chandigarh on Friday.

Chasing a challenging target of 215, Gujarat Titans produced a clinical batting performance led by captain Shubman Gill, whose unbeaten century guided the team to victory with eight balls remaining. The win sets up a title clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL 2026 final.

Earlier, Rajasthan Royals posted 214/6 after being asked to bat first. Young opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi once again impressed with a brilliant innings of 96 runs from just 47 deliveries. The left-hander played several attacking strokes and carried the Royals’ batting effort for most of the innings.

Ravindra Jadeja and Donovan Ferreira provided valuable support in the closing stages. Their contributions helped Rajasthan cross the 200-run mark and gave the bowlers a competitive total to defend.

For Gujarat Titans, Jason Holder and Kagiso Rabada picked up two wickets each and prevented Rajasthan from pushing the total even higher during the middle overs.

In reply, Gujarat received an ideal start from Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan. The opening pair maintained a strong scoring rate and kept the required run rate under control throughout the chase.

Sudharsan continued his outstanding season with a well-made 58 before departing, but Gill remained in complete control. The Gujarat captain mixed timing with placement and accelerated whenever required. His century proved to be the defining performance of the match.

The partnership between Gill and Sudharsan laid the foundation for the successful chase and ensured that Gujarat stayed ahead of the game for most of the innings.

With this victory, Gujarat Titans advance to the IPL 2026 final, where they will meet Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Rajasthan Royals, meanwhile, end their campaign after a strong season that saw them reach the playoffs and remain competitive until the final stages of the tournament.
